The chasen is an integral part of Cha No Yu. This is an 80-prong chasen whisk. It is used in a zig-zag motion to dissolve powdered matcha in a bowl with water. Whisk in a chawan or alternative deep bowl for best results. When not in use, allow drying on a chasen kusenaoshi. This helps support the shape and protects the fine tines from breakage. Recommended: For best results, soak the prongs in warm water for at least a few minutes before every use to soften the tips. NOTE: Avoid using detergents when cleaning.
