Porcelain stoneware from the Westerwald region. Sintered ceramic, glazed outside and inside. With three ventilation holes under each lid handle. Height 13.5 cm, width 33.5 cm. Depth 26.5 cm. Weight 4 kg. The family company in Ransbach-Baumbach has worked with clay for 150 years. This lid is formed out of genuine Westerwald clay. Once dried, the lid and base are glazed over an open flame at temperatures around 1,250 °C. The densely sintered material is ovenproof, non-porous and waterproof.Note: Crumbs and leftover bread should be removed straight away as they encourage mould formation.
